The 29th edition of the National Young Professionals Fashion Design Competition – RMI 2019 was launched on January 24th, on the occasion of the round table dedicated to the comparison on the values of the Italian fashion system.
On April 18, the Institute received great satisfaction during the proclamation of the finalists.
After becoming viral on social media with her sketches, which allowed her to win the Institute’s title of March’s Design of the Month, the student of Venezuelan origin, Waleska Prieto, adds another piece by gaining a place in the final of the competition
The future Fashion Designer presented 6 figures for the Beachwear section. A prize for her, in case of victory, a work experience in a company and a scholarship worth 1000 euros.
A technical commission composed of leading figures in the sector including Laura Lusuardi (Max Mara), Deanna Ferretti Veroni (Modateca Deanna), Elena Salvaneschi (TheOneMilano), Beppe Pisani, Caterina Rorro (Lectra Italia) and Piergiovanni Vitalini (Forza Giovane) has declared the list of candidates who will participate in the final phase of the competition, which will be held in collaboration with Altaroma, from 2 to 7 July next.
RMI 2019, promoted and organized by CNA Federmoda, has always been an excellent launching pad for aspiring young designers. In fact, around the initiative, an ever-growing international interest is being created which leads many designers from other countries to be present. Furthermore, thanks to the support of the MiSE and ICE we will be able to create B2B moments between international designers and companies operating in the upstream part of the supply chain.
